The ruins are located adjacent to the Registered Park of Raynham Hall, the wider landscape of the Upper Wensum Valley and steeped in centuries of associated local history.
This is such a special place for people who live here and the increasing numbers of visitors from the wider area and further afield. That is why so many local people and partner bodies support and have contributed to our efforts to conserve this precious site.
This is an increasingly popular location; it is a beautiful place to visit and appreciate. It provides a safe haven for flora and fauna, It is a place that provides an enormous sense of peace and wellbeing.
We want local people and visitors from further afield to enjoy, appreciate and understand the context of the site, the history of the ruins and the current environmental initiatives that we are developing.
Our projects are driven and managed by the St Margaret’s In Ruins Conservation Trust, a registered charity with the Charities Commission of England & Wales, CIO number 1207840, and supported by local residents. Our Trustees have expertise in ecology, the environment, architecture, business management, financial management, design, art, history, fundraising and marketing.
